Sporty but chic for Silverstrand

Hello everyone! I hope you had a nice weekend! Mine was really busy, but in between my college projects and my work experience in a boutique I managed to have some free time for an afternoon stroll at Silverstrand beach near Galway.

For the occasion I decided to wear something sporty but fashionable. Leather is huge this season and I couldn’t help but get myself a few different pieces because this is a trend that I really like. However, I think that sometimes leather can be hard to wear especially for the day, so I tried to tone down my skirt with a stripy sweater and a pair of studded trainers that gave the whole outfit a little kick!

I got the shoes at an outlet in Italy when I was back there for the summer, and I’ve been wearing them a lot. I find them perfect for college  because they are comfortable and stylish at the same time, an essential aspect when you walk around all day but you still want to feel like a fashionista  😉

First post of the Autumn

Hello everyone! First I have to apologise for my very very long absence..I have about a thousand good excuses to justify my lack of posts but I guess saying that I was just plain lazy will have to do!

I promise that I’ll get back to posting at least once a week ( because I KNOW you really missed me!!!).

Now let’s start with the fist outfit of the Autumn, last Saturday I went for a walk in the countryside of County Monaghan and  I decided to wear this classic vintage blazer because it’s comfy and cosy, plus it matches perfecly with the surroundings! I matched it with a silk blouse, my beloved Top Shop trousers and black brogues ( I’m totally into brogues lately!)

One last thing, the reason why I look so out of sorts is because being quite the city girl I was terrified to ruin my shoes with the mud, which in the end  I managed to avoid by tip toeing my way back to civilization!

Anniversary dinner outfit

Hi everyone, it’s been a while since my last post and I’m sorry for the wait!

In today’s post I’m wearing a lovely flower print dress that I got on sale in New Look, I styled it with a blue blazer and a Fendi vintage bag that belonged to my mother.

I wore this outfit for my one year anniversary dinner with my boyfriend but I think that it would be nice for a night out too because is  quite sexy without exposing too much flesh!

I also think that the dress would be easy to wear on a day time occasion if paired with flats and a satchel bag.

Posing in front of the Titanic…

A few days ago I went for a walk on the Galway prom in Salthill and you can imagine my surprise when I saw that nothing less than the Titanic was there!

Of course it’s not the real one but a 1:100 reproduction of the boat that sinked the night of the 14th of April 1912 in the cold waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

I’ve always loved the movie and I have to admit that I also went to the 3D screening of it, so  I couldn’t resist the temptation to play the movie star and pose for some pics in front of this quite impressive reproduction of the transatlantic.

Even if I hadn’t plan it my outfit was right to play the part which made me even more happy!

I think that is impossible to go wrong with the blue pencil skirt and stripy shirt combo and adding a trench makes the whole outfit look very classy and timeless    as well as the red lipstick wore with almost no other make-up.

What do you think of it? Are you big fans of the Titanic too?

Dreaming of holidays at the seaside…

Hi everyone! Today, while I was trying to figure out how Polyvore works ( my relationship  with the computer is, let’s just say, a love and hate one!) I came across this lovely stripey dress with a cool lobster print on the front.  My mind immediately flew to one of those little seaside villages where you can rent a house for the season and in the late afternoon you meet with your friends for a drink that more often than not evolves into a dinner!

So I thought I would try to put together an outfit  for this imaginary meeting with all the summer essential like a nice straw bag, sunglasses and a bracelet to die for that I’ve found on this new jewellery website called: freddieandcinnamon.com !

How do you like it?

Irish summer outfit

It’s a very hard task to pick the right outfit to go through a Galway summer day,  even more difficult when the weather changes every few minutes and the temperatures aren’t very high.

This time my choice was to put together a light dress and a oversize open worked woolen sweater.  The fact that the sweater is not too thick  makes the outfit still look summery but keeps you warm and cozy.

Even though I decided to wear it with pumps  to face a long walk  I think it would work well with wedges too.

Last but not least I’d like to bring your attention to my invaluable golden bracelets that used to belong to my grandmother.

These kind of bracelets were really popular in the sixties and the girls wanted to get as many unique charms as possible;  in this case  the first charm is a golden pound while the second  is a tag, when you spin it you can read the words ” ti amo” which means ” I love you” in Italian… definitely a the romantic gift that every girl would like to get!

Sunday at the beach

Hi everyone! How was your Sunday? Mine was really fun and sunny, I spent it playing around at the beach wearing my brand new trousers.

I already told you how much I like pastel trousers lately and because  I couldn’t decide in which color I wanted to have them I went for this cute print that is a mix of them all!

I styled them with a white t-shirt, a denim shirt that I stole from my boyfriend closet, white Superga and, to add a touch of summer to the whole outfit  I wore my watermelon shaped earrings.

P.S. What do you think of my nails?

Lazing on a sunny afternoon

Today the weather is so bad in Galway that it almost seems to be autumn so I’ve decided to cheer myself and hopefully my Irish readers up with some pics of a really nice Sunday afternoon I spent in Coole Park in Co.Galway.

I was wearing  a classic white shirt and blue  jeans combo that I styled with a blue blazer and white shoes. A comfortable yet quite stylish outfit perfect for a day in the coutryside!

Rocking a summer evening!

Hi everyone, today’s outfit post is a combination of some of the things that I really like at the moment.

I got my high low hem skirt few weeks ago in H&M and it took my a while to figure out how to style it best, in the end I decided to go for a quite rock&roll look adding my vintage leather jacket and my snake print sandals to it.

I’m happy about the final result and I can’t wait for some more nice weather to wear it again!

Raf Simons’ New Look

Yesterday afternoon Raf Simons presented his first haute – couture collection for Dior.

Despite the high expectations (to say the least)  Simons definitely created a great show and an amazing collection.

He successfully accomplished the difficult task of finding the perfect balance between his own style characterised by simple lines, and the opulent Dior view of fashion. He has combined both to donate to the world a collection of unique and timeless items, leaving us with the sensation that the best is yet to come…

The following are some of the creations that I like most.

I hope you’ll enjoy them too!
